the prodigal "daughter" " - Im back! / a "boa filha" à casa torna

6:07 AM Bomba
Hello everyone… I’m alive…and a lot happened last year  besides me not blogging :)

Last year I went to Tailand, my girl Agnalda got married, I got the Bouquet but didn’t get married (… so far);  I went to Vilanculos with a  crazy bunch, I postponed my masters one more year, I didn’t save money for rainy days, I’ve  met fantastic girls  - the Xongiles, I didn’t finish my housing project, closed my shop temporarily :(, started exercising for real, lost some weight, got a car, overall good things despite things not done. And what wasn’t done will be done sooner or later– including blogging!

So my girl Geba tha awesome girl from randomizing much - not so random, challenged me to post one thing per week on the Blog…(what? Which blog? Rsrsrs it existed on the farfetched corner of my mind). Anyway, she even posted about our last trip to Tailand, and reminded me of the things I did, like me not being afraid to  ask for something I was looking for. – how often you do this?

Well, truth be told – I was out of my comfort zone as well, but at that moment in time I just did not care. I am not like that all the time, sometimes fear is real. Fear of rejection – not being accepted by people whom you like and respect, fear of failure – I guess this is the biggest fear I have , fear of not being understood, fear of acting like a fool…anyway the list goes on and on. Fear make us idle.

So… I’m back  (BY UNPOPULAR DEMAND rsrsrsrs)…..I’m also Vlogging now, but only on my phone J I still have to kill the ultimate fear - but one step at a time.

This post is just to say that I am back, and to thank “da not so random chick” for the challenge and for reminding me how we all must go out of our comfort zones, all the times we can.

I have many recipes I’ve made and recorded last year but just didn’t post them, and I’m so excited, I have to stop writing now or I’ll make this a BOOK – I’m planning to go down on the blog and I Hope you will have as much fun as me doing this.

========================================================================

Então, a Geba a amazing girl do blog Randomizing Much , desafiou-me a postar uma coisa por semana no Blog ... (qual blogue??

Salada de folhas e Morango / Strawberry and leaves Salad

3:42 PM Bomba

Quem fizer a salada. Fico a espera de saber como ficou.

Since we have recently talked about boring salads
Here goes my strawberry salad ... when I made the chicken with sesame I wanted a salad to accompany the meal and coincidentally had strawberries and greens, so why not?
The chicken had with sesame soy sauce and sugar ...  So I decided to use the ingredients I had to make a mix. I ended up doing better than what I expected and I loved it. The secret is in the salad dressing. It is not just nice to the eyes but tastes heavenly.
The salad can be made with lettuce leaves, but it what I’ve used is a mixture of leaves that I buy already made ... and love. But ... again, It is mixture of leaves ... .Mix whatever you want, but if you have arugula leaves and others ... mix them because it will elevates the flavor of the salad.
Ingredients:
Lettuce leaves (tender)
Arugula
Endive
Chicory (radicchio)
Red mustard leaves

For the Sauce:
Soy sauce
Brown sugar
Honey
Olive oil
Rice vinegar
Juice of half orange

Put the leaves together; add the strawberry chunks and feta cheese
Take the dressing ingredients and mix well. Do not exaggerate on the amount of honey... do not ask me the exact amounts of the dressing ingredients ... I measure by eye ... and taste.
Again the secret is in the dressing salad. If you just add strawberry to a leaf salad probably it will not make much sense or won’t be as fun and delicious.
Last time I’ve made this salad was for Sunday lunch and the main course was mashed butternut squash (with butter) and meatballs.
I hope you try the salad ... and have fun.
If you do.... Please tell me if you’ve enjoyed it.

Frango com gergelim(sésamo) e molho asiático / Chicken with sesame and Asian sauce

10:50 AM Bomba
Frango com gergelim(sésamo) e molho asiático

Ingredientes

Para o Frango:
1 ovo
2 colheres de Maizena
400 gr de peito de frango
Azeite
Sal qb
Pimenta qb
Cebolinho qb.

Para o Molho :
1 colher de gengibre ralado. (rale no ralador de cenoura)
2 colheres de molho de soja
1 colher de agua
1 colher azeite

(poderá fazer a mesma coisa no forno).

Prove o sal e a pimenta.

Terceiro: Enquanto o frango vai cozendo, prepare o molho.

Chicken with sesame and Asian sauce

ingredients

For the Chicken:
1 egg
2 tablespoons of Cornstarch
400 gr of chicken breast
1 tablespoon of olive oil
salt to taste
pepper to taste
Minced chives.

For the Sauce:
1 teaspoon of grated ginger.
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon water
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 and a half teaspoon of brown sugar
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tablespoons sesame / toasted sesame
1 level tablespoon corn starch (cornstarch)

The first time I made this recipe I was kind of overwhelmed with the amount of ingredients for the sauce. This is the correct recipe, although I confess that when I prepare this sauce now,  I don’t follow the quantities… I do "by taste" ... and almost always replace the sugar with honey.

Let's do it:
Although it has a lot of ingredients It is super-duper ultra-simple and quick, I recommend that you try.. Seriously! Actually I’m telling you to do it. In 15 minutes the dish will be ready!

First we started with sesame seeds,
I’ve never found ready toasted sesame seeds (unless in a cereal bar) so I toast them myself in a pan.
Place the sesame seeds in a dry pan and in mild temperature, mix and turn so it doesn’t burn, as they begin toasting sesame changes color to darker. Once it is done set aside. (You can do the same thing in the oven).

Second: Place the egg in a bowl, 2 tablespoons of cornstarch, salt and pepper and mix well.
Cut the chicken breast in small pieces (similar to the size of your thumb) and place the mixture above, mix everything well to make sure all pieces are coated. Taste the salt and pepper.

Heat the pan with 2 tablespoons of olive oil and when hot, and pour the chicken and the whole mixture that is in the bowl. Note: Remember that if your pan sticks... buy a nonstick one, you will see that your life will be separated into before and after the nonstick frying pan ...  plus you don’t leave the flavor in the pan and you use less oil to achieve the same result!

Let the chicken change color on one side before flipping it, make sure the chicken doesn’t overcook it should take about 8 minutes. Do not let the chicken dry, no need to cook a lot, just enough to cook and stay juicy

Third: While the chicken cooks prepare the sauce.
In a bowl mix all the sauce ingredients except the sesame seeds, they will be mixed 1 second before putting the sauce in the pan.

Pour the sauce over the ready chicken, and let it simmer a bit in the pan.
When done add chives and serve.

The side dishes I’ve served with were white rice and a mix of salad leaves (rocket, lettuce, endive, radicchio) with strawberries, feta and orange juice dressing with soy and honey. (But the salad recipe is for another post.

Salada quente de Croutons, Bacon e Alecrim / Warm salad with croutons Bacon and Rosemary

1:45 PM Bomba
Salada quente de Croutons, Bacon e Alecrim

Olá, o post de hoje é bastante simples.
Não está cansado das mesmas saladas? Tomate/pepino e alface? Repolho e mayonnaise? Só para dar alguns exemplos.
Eu adoro saladas…confesso.

Tire do lume e reserve.

Adicione o tomate cereja, o queijo feta.

Warm salad with croutons Bacon and Rosemary

Hi All , today's post is pretty simple.
Are not you tired of the same boring salads? Tomato / cucumber and lettuce? Cabbage and mayonnaise? Just to give some examples.
I love salads ... I confess. And I love to try new things and experiment, this is not the first time I say it here on the blog, and my salads have absolutely nothing boring!
This salad was inspired in a salad from Jamie Oliver's book: cooking with Jamie Oliver, the salad was just bacon and crouton, although I have added all the other ingredients. (Yes,  I have a collection of cookbooks ... and I love buying them ... my birthday is coming  soon so… if you do not know what to give me the hint is for free ... lol)

Ingredients:
Bacon
Croutons (pieces of dried or toasted bread)
Margarine to taste
Cherry tomatoes
rosemary
Feta cheese
Oil / vinegar to season

Start by cutting the bacon into small pieces, put them in a fry pan with butter and rosemary, once fried, add a little more margarine and add the crouton ... it will have absorbed the margarine and infused by the rosemary. Remove from heat and set aside.

Add the cherry tomatoes, feta cheese. Season just before serving so the crouton won’t be soaked with oil and vinegar!
I usually buy the crouton ready for convenience, but can choose to do it that is much cheaper.
Incredibly simple and delicious, rosemary gives his magic touch as always
